February 24, Minsk /Tatyana Ivanyuk - BELTA/. Specialists of the "Dortur" tourist centre of the Minsk branch of Belarusian Railways have developed excursion tours using railway transport, BELTA was informed by the BZD press centre.

The specialists noted that the excursion tours are created, among other things, taking into account the Year of Hospitality announced in the country, events of the Ice Hockey World Championship, and the celebration of the 70th anniversary of the liberation of Belarus from the German-fascist invaders.

In particular, during the championship, it is planned to increase the number of excursions within the "By Train to the Capital" project. It provides for the opportunity to attend daily bus excursions "Minsk - the Capital of the Republic of Belarus", which will be organised from the railway station and will be conducted three times a day in Russian and once in English.

New excursions around Belarus have been developed for organised groups travelling by electric trains of urban and regional lines to Orsha, Zhdanovichi, Baranovichi. Excursion programmes with night transfers on regular trains to Brest, Polotsk, Grodno, Mogilev have also been compiled. For example, the Minsk-Zaslavl-Dudutki route involves a transfer from Minsk to Zaslavl by an urban line electric train, followed by an exploration of Zaslavl and a visit to the "Dudutki" museum of ancient folk crafts and technologies. Specialists also highlighted the Minsk-Orsha-Minsk routes (with a visit to the locomotive depot museum in Orsha and the K.S. Zaslonov Memorial Museum in Orsha), Minsk-Grodno-Minsk (with a sightseeing tour of Grodno and a visit to the "Korobchitsy" agro-tourism complex), Minsk-Brest-Minsk (with a sightseeing tour of Brest and a visit to the "Brest Fortress-Hero" memorial complex or the "Belovezhskaya Pushcha" National Park).

The press centre noted that the tour programmes can be found in detail on the website of Belarusian Railways.-0-
