The Lepel Inter-district Inspectorate for the Protection of Fauna and Flora reminds that in accordance with the Hunting Rules, the hunting season for male woodcock in 2024 begins on March 16 and will last until May 12. Hunting is permitted by firearm from ambush (on the flight) between 6 PM and 10 PM. Smooth-bore hunting weapons using cartridges loaded with shot may be used.
The use of hunting dogs of the following breeds is permitted for the tracking and retrieval of woodcock: terriers, dachshunds, pointers, spaniels, retrievers, water dogs.
It is forbidden to hunt females during the spring hunting season.
