Chashniki District was the first in the Vitebsk region to complete the sowing of spring grain crops, the Chairman of the Committee for Agriculture and Food of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Sergey Dogel, informed the BELTA correspondent. As of the morning of May 8, Glubokskoye (90%), Dokshitsy (85%), and Lepel (83%) districts were close to completing the sowing of spring grain crops. On average, all districts of the region have already sown 60-70% of the area, except for Ushachi and Vitebsk, which have just passed the 50% mark. In total, 179 thousand hectares have been sown in the region, or 71% of the target. "The high pace of work allows us to hope to complete the sowing of grain crops within the next two days," noted Sergey Dogel. This week, the region also plans to complete the sowing of flax and rapeseed. These crops have been sown on 67% and 45% of the planned areas, respectively. At the same time, Dokshitsy and Sharkovshchina districts have completed the sowing of flax, and Gorodok and Glubokoye districts are approaching 100%. Beshenkovichi District was the first in the region to complete the sowing of spring rapeseed.
