This is a journey for special tourists, requiring adapted excursion programs developed specifically for people with disabilities. It is gratifying that such an initiative now exists in the Lepel region as well.
“The objective of our tours is the socio-cultural rehabilitation of people with health conditions. Participants interact with each other, learn to collaborate in a group, and explore new places and attractions of their native region,” says Maria Stankevich, a tourism instructor-methodologist at the State Institution “Lepel District Physical Culture and Health Centre,” who also serves as a guide.
Visitors of the Centre for Social and Labour, Social and Household, and Physical Rehabilitation of Disabled Persons of the Lepel District enthusiastically learned about the history of the wine-cleansing warehouse, the monument to Pyatachok on Freedom Square, Lev Sapega, and visited the Crafts Centre and other landmarks of Lepel.
The excursion route for tourists with disabilities of health groups 1 and 2, titled “Lepel: From History to Modernity,” was conducted with the mandatory accompaniment of an employee from the Territorial Centre for Social Services of the Population of the Lepel District, in this case, Alesya Kulak, a physical rehabilitation instructor-methodologist at the centre.
