The beloved summer, warm, friendly "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk," which unites generations and continents, concluded in a bright, colourful, magnificent, and solemn manner. Numerous epithets were bestowed upon the participants, organisers, guests, and spectators of the arts forum today.
The glamorous Zhanet and her daughter Laura banished boredom and "recited" a song mantra – all's well that ends well. The family duo looks to the future with optimism and offers smiles to the audience.
Guests from India brought fire to the Vitebsk stage – almost sacred fire from the banks of the Ganges. "Jimmy, Jimmy" is a global hit not only within Indira Gandhi's homeland; it is close and recognisable to music lovers worldwide thanks to Bollywood and reached peak mood levels.
The appearance of People's Artist of Russia Igor Nikolaev on stage electrified the hall. The singer wished all Slavic brides happiness and peaceful skies above their heads. The artist admitted he missed the Vitebsk audience and, as a gift, performed his new song "Love of My Life" and his hit "Melnitsa," while the audience sang along and danced in their seats. The fantastic atmosphere, which, according to Igor Nikolaev, can only be found in Vitebsk, keeps artists coming back, so everyone strives to be here. "I love you," confessed the composer, and the hall melted from these magical words.
The upbeat song "Dancing Disco," performed by one of the jury members of the young performers' competition, Mikaela Rose, got the hall moving, making it impossible for anyone to sit still.
The audience at the Summer Amphitheatre welcomed Elena Vaenga as one of their own. After performing a song, she invited Alena Petrovskaya onto the stage, and the artists performed a duet.
The favourites of 1990s teenagers, "Otpetye Moshenniki," made the hall soar and wished for both "Slavianski Bazaar" and the soulfulness that always prevails at the festival to never disappear.
Natalia Podolskaya and Vladimir Presnyakov, Mark Tishman, Teo, Larisa Dolina, and other stars made this summer Sunday evening particularly memorable. Vitebsk bids farewell to the guests of "Slavianski Bazaar" but not to the hope for new meetings and new discoveries next year.
