4 May, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Four Vitebsk enterprises have entered into cooperative ties and are creating a new furniture production facility, Yevgeny Kiselev, director of the Vitebsk municipal unitary enterprise (VMUP) "Zarya", told a BELTA correspondent. The creation of serial furniture production is planned by the regional investment development program for the period up to 2015, based on the "Zarya" enterprise, which specialises in the production of cabinet furniture for individual orders. JSC "Vitebskdrev", which has mastered the production of modern chipboards for furniture production, JSC "Vitebsk Instrument-Making Plant", which manufactures fittings, and the municipal enterprise "Vitplast", a manufacturer of mirrors and glass products, have also been involved in the project. The partner enterprises have already developed a collection of 50 units of cabinet furniture. The new products are presented in the exhibition centre for market research. According to Yevgeny Kiselev, trading organisations in Vitebsk, Polotsk, and Orsha have already shown interest in Vitebsk furniture. The implementation of the business plan is designed for two years. As Yevgeny Kiselev noted, the new project will bring tangible benefits to all participants. Thus, manufacturers of components will have a guaranteed sales market, the "Zarya" enterprise will switch from individual to serial production, which will allow increasing production, creating jobs, and expanding sales markets, both in Belarus and abroad. The "Zarya" enterprise is a platform for the implementation of an innovative project for the production of furniture not only using polymer materials, chipboard, OSB, MDF, but also from solid wood of various species. The enterprise has mastered the production of furniture and doors from lightweight board - tamburat. Approximately $1 million has been invested in the technical re-equipment of production over the past two years. Over the past five years, the staff has doubled to over 100 people, and production has increased eightfold. The growth rate of production volumes in January-April of the current year compared to the same period last year was 200%. The enterprise has a representative office in the Moscow region.-0-
