On March 27, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. Officials must fulfil their obligations to the people. This opinion was expressed today at a personal reception of citizens by the President's Aide - Chief Inspector for the Vitebsk Region, Nikolai Domashkevich, BELTA correspondent reports.
A total of about 30 people attended the reception today. Among the most pressing issues were those concerning delays in housing construction. According to Nikolai Domashkevich, officials, instead of meeting with the public, discussing sensitive issues and helping to resolve them, are delaying matters with unnecessary correspondence and promises. As an example, he cited the situation with the construction of a house on Chkalov Street in Vitebsk: "This house was supposed to be commissioned a year ago, people paid 90% of the housing cost with their own money, and the housing is still not completed." In his opinion, the reason for this issue lies in the failure to fulfil the instruction of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Alexander Kosinets, on organizing a 2-3 shift work regime at the city's construction sites.
"It is necessary to take this issue under control and help people. Heads of authorities must fulfil their obligations to the people, so as not to be ashamed later," the President's Aide emphasized.
Summing up the reception, Nikolai Domashkevich concluded that it is necessary to improve the quality, productivity, and responsibility in the work of everyone. This applies to representatives of authorities and ordinary workers alike. "Everyone needs to work better, regardless of their field of activity and position, to perform their work with high quality, then the well-being of each individual family and the country as a whole will improve," the President's Aide concluded. -0-
