According to specialists, the primary factor contributing to the population increase remains migration growth, which amounted to 15,096 people in January-September of the current year, an increase of 6,622 people (1.8 times) compared to the corresponding period last year.
The natural population decrease for January-September 2015 was 1,761 people, an increase of 216 people compared to the same period in 2014.
In January-September of the current year, 262 fewer children (0.3% less) were born in the republic compared to the corresponding period in 2014. The number of deaths decreased by 46 people (0.1% less) compared to January-September of last year.
The infant mortality rate decreased from 3.5 cases per 1,000 live births in January-September 2014 to 3.2 cases in January-September 2015. Conditions arising in the perinatal period and congenital anomalies account for 69.6% of the causes of death in children under one year of age.
In January-September 2015, compared to the same period last year, the number of marriages decreased by 5.2%, and the number of divorces decreased by 5.8%. -0-
