Over 240 combine crews in the Vitebsk region have surpassed the threshold of 1 thousand tons of grain during the harvesting campaign, which is more than 3.5 times the result of 2010. The largest number of "thousand-tonners" – 33 crews – worked in the fields of the Orsha district, as well as in Dubrovno (28 crews) and Vitebsk (24) districts. In the "individual standings," combine operators Leonid Paramonov and Alexander Karazeev from SPC "Kolkhoz "Olgovskoye" of the Vitebsk district harvested the most. The Vitebsk residents on the KZS-1218 combine put over 2.4 thousand tons of grain into the granaries, surpassing combine operator Vladimir Lapkovsky (harvest of almost 2.3 thousand tons) from OJSC "Prudinki" of the Verkhnedvinsk district in the final stage of harvesting. The third result belongs to Anatoly Zhilinsky from the Lepel Variety Testing Station, who harvested slightly over 2 thousand tons on a KZS-1218. The threshold of 1.5 thousand tons of grain was overcome by 16 crews, including two crews of young combine operators. In total, 29 youth crews managed to harvest over 1 thousand tons of grain, including six from the Dubrovno district and five from the Miory district. The leader in terms of yield among enterprises is SPC "Kolkhoz "Olgovskoye" of the Vitebsk district, whose specialists managed to obtain an average of 58.1 centners per hectare. According to data as of August 29, grain crops have been mowed on an area of about 422 thousand hectares in the region, or 95.5% of the areas to be harvested. Over 1.2 million tons of grain have been harvested with an average yield of 29.4 centners per hectare. The region is carrying out mass sowing of winter cereals, which already occupy 17.4 thousand hectares, or 7% of the plan, and mass harvesting of corn for feed (almost 11% of the crops of this culture have been mowed). -0-
