The number of administrative cases considered by the Vitebsk Regional Economic Court in the first quarter of the current year against individuals decreased by 19% compared to the same period last year. This was reported to a BELTA correspondent by Olga Kibisova, Head of the Judicial Practice Department of the Regional Economic Court. The number of cases concerning unlicensed activities, or activities carried out in violation of licensing terms and conditions, has decreased by one and a half times. According to Olga Kibisova, such statistics are partly related to the liberalisation of entrepreneurial activity and the implementation of the provisions of Directive No. 4 "On the Development of Entrepreneurial Initiative and Stimulation of Business Activity in the Republic of Belarus". It should be noted that during January-March 2012, individuals who are not individual entrepreneurs were not brought to administrative responsibility under Part 2 of Article 12.7 of the Code of Administrative Offences (prohibited activities). At the same time, in the first quarter of the current year, the number of administrative cases considered against legal entities increased by 20% compared to the same period last year. The number of administrative materials sent to the Regional Economic Court concerning Article 23.57 of the Code of Administrative Offences (violation of the rules and conditions for carrying out security activities) and Part 4 of Article 12.17 of the Code of Administrative Offences (violation of trade and service provision rules) has increased. Overall, the number of administrative offence cases considered by the Vitebsk Regional Economic Court in January-March of the current year has practically not changed compared to the same period last year, amounting to 294 cases versus 292. -0-
