To prevent emergencies on the water, rescuers of the Lepel branch of the Belarusian Voluntary Society for the Rescue of People on Water (OSVOD) are working both from the shore and from the water.

They are on duty at stations, patrol beaches, monitor water bodies, and also remind vacationers of the rules for safe behaviour on the water, paying special attention to children, as many children are отдыхают without adult supervision, which is extremely dangerous.
- Sixteen people work at the Lepel rescue station. There are 5-6 employees on duty per shift. These include 2 divers, 1 helmsman, a lifeguard, and a nurse. As for our district, fortunately, no emergencies on the water have been registered in this summer season so far. However, the regional statistics are food for thought - 34 people have already drowned, and 23 vacationers have been rescued.
