A Belarusian brand and a truly healing drink – the birch sap harvesting season has officially begun in the country. Due to sunny weather, sap flow started earlier than usual – at the end of March, although traditionally it begins in early April. The Lepel forestry enterprise was among the first to start collecting.
The price per litre of this valuable drink will be 42 kopecks. The healthy product can be purchased on weekdays from 8:00 to 17:00 in all forestry units.Residents of the Lepel region are actively buying birch sap. Forestry workers strive to fulfill all orders from the public, but sometimes there are too many interested people. 2-3 tonnes of the product can be collected per day from designated sap harvesting areas.
– We collect what nature gives us. On average, one birch tree yields 20-30 litres of sap per day, – added the forestry enterprise.
By the way, these days the Lepel forestry enterprise sells sap not only to individuals but also to large enterprises. Thus, the natural drink from the forests of the Lepel region is supplied to the production of CJSC "Minsk Plant of Non-alcoholic Beverages".
Fans of fresh birch sap can also collect it themselves, but in this case, it is necessary to contact the nearest forestry unit to be allocated a plot for self-harvesting. It is strictly forbidden to choose any tree for tapping. Only forestry workers can determine which birch trees can be involved in this process.
Please note that administrative liability is provided for illegal birch sap harvesting. For individuals, the fine will be up to 20 basic units, for sole proprietors – up to 100 basic units, and for legal entities – up to 500 basic units.
