Ten-day campaign to improve the level of life safety in private households

In 2022, the operational situation regarding fires and fatalities in the Lepel district became more complex. Therefore, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations (ROCHS), together with employees of the District Department of Internal Affairs (ROVD) and healthcare professionals, actively joined a ten-day campaign to improve the life safety of citizens. This campaign targeted individuals registered for preventive measures due to offences committed under the influence of alcohol, the unemployed and those abusing alcohol, as well as cohabitants and dependents of individuals of retirement age and households registered with internal affairs bodies. The campaign was organised by regional prevention entities.

Understanding the importance of this event, other district services also joined the effort. Two raid groups were established in the Lepel district, operating daily, both during the day and in the evening.

During home visits, group members remind citizens about the dangers of smoking in bed, the necessity of equipping residential rooms with autonomous fire alarms, provide examples of lives saved by these devices, and conduct discussions on the harm of alcohol consumption and the responsibility for committing crimes while intoxicated.

The members of the raid groups are confident that this work will undoubtedly yield positive results.
