On May 10, a ceremonial event dedicated to the Day of the State Flag, State Emblem, and State Anthem of the Republic of Belarus was held in Lepel. Residents of the Lepel region, representatives of authorities, veterans, work collectives, public organizations, political parties, educational institutions of the district, and youth participated in the event.
The Chairman of the District Council of Deputies, Igor Urban, greeted those present:— Today we celebrate one of the most significant holidays of our country — the Day of the State Flag, State Emblem, and State Anthem of the Republic of Belarus. These symbols are not just official attributes. The genetic code of our people is encoded in each of their elements. The gold of the ears of corn on the emblem represents our creative work, the red stripe of the flag represents the courage of our ancestors, and the words of the anthem represent our sincere love for our native land. Preserving historical memory today is not just a tribute to the past; it is a guarantee of our future. In every young heart today lies the hope of our country. By fostering respect for state sacred symbols, we pass on to the new generation not just official symbols, but living history, the warmth of our home, and most importantly, pride in being Belarusians. We are proud of our past and look confidently to the future as long as the memory of our origins lives in our hearts.
On the festive day, work collectives of the Lepel region received awards for the best organization of ideological work:
- in the field of education - Educational Institution "Slobodskaya Secondary School named after N.M. Pshyonko of Lepel District"
- in the field of culture - Cultural Institution "Lepel District Museum of Local Lore"
- in the field of agricultural production — Agricultural Unitary Enterprise "Prozhektor-agro"
- in the field of forestry - the collective of the State Forestry Institution "Lepel Forestry"
- in the banking sector: the collective of Open Joint Stock Company "Savings Bank "Belarusbank", Branch in Lepel No. 211
- in the field of healthcare and wellness: the collective of the Communal Unitary Enterprise "Children's Rehabilitation and Health Center "Zhemchuzhina"
- in the field of housing and communal services: the collective of KUPP "Borovka".
On behalf of the younger generation of Lepel District, the best graduates of Lepel city schools, who have achieved high results in their studies, sports, and creative pursuits, took an oath of allegiance to the state symbols of the Republic of Belarus.
Today also became a memorable day for young residents of Lepel, as 130 schoolchildren became members of the public association "Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization".
"I, joining the ranks of the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization, solemnly promise before my friends: to love my Motherland, to be kind, honest, and just, to always follow the Charter and traditions of the Belarusian Republican Pioneer Organization!" — the children recited the Oath.
Pioneer ties were tied for the pioneers by members of parties and public associations of Lepel region, representatives of the court, the military commissariat, and the deputy corps.
