On July 13, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA /. Russia's Culture Day will open the national culture days at the XXI International Festival of Arts "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" today, BELTA correspondent reports. The world-renowned ensemble, the Igor Moiseyev State Academic Ensemble of Popular Dance, will perform at the international forum. In late February 2012, the ensemble celebrated its 75th anniversary. The gala concert programme includes works staged by Moiseyev in various periods of his creative activity, which have become world classics. Among them is the Belarusian dance "Bulba," one of Moiseyev's first productions, which is still enthusiastically received worldwide. The ensemble's repertoire also includes other Belarusian dances: "Kryzhachok," "Lavonikha," and "Yurochka." The characters of the Jewish suite "Family Joys" were conceived by Igor Moiseyev under the impression of Sholem Aleichem's Kasrilovka and the Vitebsk outskirts of Marc Chagall. The Moiseyev ensemble's repertoire, which includes dances of the peoples of the world, perfectly matches the festival's main idea: "Through Art – to Peace and Mutual Understanding." This ensemble was at the origins of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival; in 1992, Igor Moiseyev's ensemble performed at the first "Slavianski Bazaar" festival. Before their performance on the Summer Amphitheatre stage, the ensemble's leaders and dancers will meet with journalists at the "Star Hour," a traditional festival press conference. Concerts by Leonid Serebrennikov are scheduled for this day, where he will treat the audience to Russian romances at the Regional Philharmonic. Boris Moiseyev will present his new album at the "Dance in White" concert. For young people, a disco will be held on Victory Square with popular teen DJs from Italy and Russia. Friday the 13th, although considered an unlucky date, will undoubtedly become a lucky day for some participants of the pop song performers' contest. This is because the participants' draw will take place on this day. A little earlier, the jury chairman of the contest, People's Artist of Russia Maxim Dunaevsky, will answer journalists' questions at the "Star Hour." -0-
