Traditionally, this day will consist of two parts - official events and cultural projects. The first will be opened by a flower-laying ceremony at the Eternal Flame of the memorial complex in honor of Soviet soldiers-liberators, veterans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region, with the participation of the Deputy State Secretary of the Union State, Nikolai Korbut, representatives of the Standing Committee of the Union State, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union of Belarus and Russia, and representatives of public organizations of war and military service veterans, and youth. Nikolai Korbut will also be an honored guest at the press conference of the laureates of the Union State Prize in Literature and Art and the round table "The Role of Regional Museums in Intercultural Cooperation between Belarus and Russia: State and Prospects for Development".
The creative events of the day will be opened by the International Competition of Ceramic and Pottery Masters "Hlina Spyavae". During the three-day creative competition, a colorful spectacle is expected with the participation of about 50 leading masters of pottery, folk toys, and ceramic art from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and other countries. Two fascinating meetings are promised by the forum organizers at the International Press Center: the guests of "Star Hour" will be the Honored Artist of Russia, pianist and composer Sergei Zhilin, as well as the famous Soviet theater and film actors Igor Kostolevsky and Mikhail Filippov.
Connoisseurs of painting and the delicate work of lacemakers, elevated to the rank of high art, are expected at the Art Museum, where presentations of the exhibitions "Ilya Repin. Moonlight. Works from the Zdravnevo period" and "Vologda Lace" will take place today.
Spectators of the evening concerts at the Summer Amphitheatre will have a stunning experience. Goran Bregović and the "Wedding and Funeral Orchestra", Emir Kusturica and "The No Smoking Orchestra" will perform here. As the Serbian director promised on the eve of the presentation of his film "On the Milky Road", the concert will be memorable. The meeting with the "Fonograf-Sinfo-Jazz" orchestra conducted by Sergey Zhilin will bring no less emotion. At night, Igor Nikolaev, Igor Sarukhanov, Anatoly Yarmolenko and the ensemble "Syabry", Natalia Oreiro, Ilona Bronewitskaya, Lada Dance, Sergey Mandrik's Street Jazz ballet and other artists will light up the festival Vitebsk on this stage in the "Golden Hit" program. Tickets for this concert were among the leaders in sales and have long been sold out, the organizers note.
