The XXVI International Arts Festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" has officially commenced, and the second day of events will be held under the auspices of the Union State, BelTA reports.

A traditional guest at the events will be the State Secretary of the Union State, Grigory Rapota, who will lay flowers at the memorial complex in honor of Soviet soldiers-liberators, partisans, and underground fighters of the Vitebsk region in the morning. He will also visit the I. Repin Museum-Estate "Zdravnevo," where he will participate in a round table discussion on "Artistic and Literary Heritage for Future Generations." In the evening, at the Summer Amphitheatre, spectators will gather to listen to beloved songs by the ensemble "Syabry" at the collective's anniversary concert, "The Union State Invites...".
However, it is not only the friendship of the peoples of Belarus and Russia that will mark this day. It promises to be multinational: slightly earlier in the evening, famous artists and ensembles from Ukraine will perform on the Summer Amphitheatre stage, and at the Vitebsk Philharmonic Hall, Georgian male ensemble "Alilo" will capture the hearts of Slavs with passionate dances and throat singing. Once again, Belarusian national motifs will fill Victory Square: in the evening, the first part of the Youth Days program at "Slavianski Bazaar" will begin here – the BRSM project Disco-folk "Vyshyvanka.by."
A significant event of the day will be the semi-final of the XXVI International Pop Song Performers Competition "Vitebsk-2017." 21 participants will perform on the stage of the "Vitebsk" Concert Hall with songs by composers from their countries and in their native languages. After a brief deliberation, the jury will announce the names of the 15 lucky contestants who will advance to the final.
Happenings for children and adults, comedy fairy tales from guests of the "Puppet Quarter" await visitors of the Belarusian Theatre "Lyalka". The "Theatre Meetings" project will be continued by another comedy. At the Kolasovsky Theatre stage, the Theatre-Studio of Film Actors (Belarus) will present the play "Nobody Promised an Easy Life". The "On Seven Winds" fest will energise Vitebsk streets with interactivity. Each of its venues this Friday will delight spectators and passers-by. The Moscow Puppet Theatre will perform the traditional folk comedy "Petrushka", while participants of art studios, buffoons, stilt walkers and shadow theatre artists will arrange performances and involve visitors in game programmes. Tolstoy Street will turn into a musical Arbat and a gallery of living statues, and Mayakovsky Square will become a photo gallery. The Festpicnic in Frunze Park will continue to delight with gastronomic masterpieces and upbeat music.
On the next festival day, the night concert "Golden Hit" will loudly transport the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" audience with the participation of famous domestic and foreign performers: Inna Afanasyeva, Oleg Zhukov, Irina Dorofeeva, Aziza, Jasmine, groups "Diskomafia", "Na-Na", "Otpetye Moshenniki", Londonbeat, Julio Iglesias Jr. and many others.
