The reporting period was marked by significant events in the public and political life of our country, region, and district. The republican referendum, held in the Year of Historical Memory, demonstrated the necessity of forming an objective societal attitude towards the historical past, and of preserving and strengthening the unity of the Belarusian people.
The work of the District Council of Deputies was aimed at fulfilling the main indicators of socio-economic development, as well as at addressing issues of public services and meeting the daily needs of citizens.
Yuri Derkach, a member of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, a deputy of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies for the Lepel Electoral District No. 12, and Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Trade Union Association, spoke during the discussion of the report at the session.
He noted that the primary task of local authorities is to care for people and provide comprehensive assistance in resolving their pressing problems. This includes ensuring a decent standard and quality of life for the population, through, among other things, growth in real wages and other incomes, improvement of the pension provision system and targeted social assistance, development of the system of state social standards, and provision of housing. The degree of trust and support from residents for the work of local authorities and state policy as a whole will depend on competent management decisions and a considerate attitude towards people.
Valentin Lovets, Head of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations and a deputy of the Lepel District Council of Deputies, reported on the work carried out in the district to prevent deaths and injuries during fires and other emergencies.
Alexander Boltrushevich, Director of the subsidiary state unitary enterprise "Capital Construction Department of Lepel District" and a deputy of the Lepel District Council of Deputies, reported on the development of the construction complex and road management of the district.
Vasily Shapka, Chairman of the Lepel Rural Council, reported on the implementation of the Law of the Republic of Belarus of January 4, 2010 "On Local Government and Self-Government in the Republic of Belarus" in the territory of the Lepel rural council.
Lepel Rural Council of Deputies, Rural Executive CommitteeTatiana Bondal, Tatiana Nikolaevna, a deputy of the Gorsky Rural Council of Deputies and deputy chairperson of the house committee of the village of Zaslonovo, shared her experience in the work of territorial public self-government bodies and rural council deputies on organizing the improvement of the Gorsky rural council territory and addressing issues of population livelihood.
The session was also attended by Ruslan Shkodin, deputy of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies for the Borovskiy Electoral District No. 13, members of the Lepel District Executive Committee, chairpersons of rural councils of deputies, members of the Youth Chamber, heads of organizations and enterprises of the district, and structural divisions of the district executive committee.
Having considered and analyzed the results of the work on addressing population livelihood issues and fulfilling socio-economic development parameters, the deputies adopted a corresponding decision aimed at increasing the efficiency of state bodies' activities.
