On January 14th at 21:30, a driver from the Vitebsk City Ambulance Station, operating a service vehicle GAZ-392470 (ambulance), near house No. 4 on Tsentralnaya Street in the settlement of Kirovsky, hit a minor, Kirpichenko Victoria, who had fallen out of a child's sledge. As a result of the accident, the girl sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalised in the neurosurgery department of the Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital. The child was not equipped with retroreflective elements.

2 children were injured as passengers in vehicles; there were no fatalities. In one case, a minor was transported without a child restraint system. During the same period in 2016, 1 child passenger was injured who was not secured by a seatbelt.

On February 4th at 21:10, a student from the Pustash State College (born 04.03.2001), without a driving license, operating a Volkswagen Passat (belonging to his mother), near house No. 162 on Leninskaya Street in the urban-type settlement of Voropayevo, lost control and collided with a Toyota Yaris driven by an employee of the Voropayevo Kindergarten (born 1973). As a result of the accident, Kozlovich Mikhail, an 8th-grade student from Voropayevo Secondary School (born 24.11.2002), who was a passenger in the Volkswagen Passat, sustained bodily injuries and was hospitalised in the surgery department of the Central District Hospital.

On February 24th at approximately 07:30, a teacher from the Starolepel Basic School (born 30.11.1981), operating a personal Citroën Xsara vehicle on the 34th km of the Ushachi-Lepel highway (from the direction of Ushachi towards Lepel), collided with a GAZ 3307 (milk truck) moving in the opposite direction, driven by a driver from Lepel Dairy and Canning Plant OJSC (born 20.01.1987). As a result of the accident, the driver of the passenger car was killed. The passenger (the driver's wife) and another passenger, Dushenina Daria, a 2nd-grade student from Lepel Secondary School No. 1 (born 03.09.2008) (daughter of acquaintances), were hospitalised with injuries.
