A family-type children's home was opened in Polotsk today, October 14. The significant event was attended by representatives of regional and local authorities, public organizations, and all those involved in the implementation of this project.
This is the second family-type children's home in the district (the first was opened in 2015 in the agro-town of Zhernoseki). The spacious two-story cottage is fully equipped. It has several bedrooms, a cozy living room, and a kitchen. There is an inner courtyard and a spacious territory that accommodates a common recreation area, a playground, and space for a vegetable garden and orchard. All children who find a home here will be able to grow up comfortably, believes foster parent Anna Vladimirovna Vlasova. Her opinion can be trusted – she has been working as a foster parent at the education department of the Polotsk District Executive Committee since 2006. During this time, she has raised 14 foster children. Her husband, Ivan Sergeevich, an electrician at Naftan OJSC, is always a reliable support.
Currently, their family is raising one biological and three adopted sons. Recently, three more children joined their close-knit group. The elder children, Artyom and Kirill, are 14 years old, and the youngest, Emilia, is three years old, as noted by Anna Vladimirovna:
— Family-type children's homes are a professional form of upbringing and care for children left without parental care. For our part, we will do everything possible to ensure their childhood is spent in a friendly family environment, and the children grow up to be good people and true patriots.
The adoptive parents, Anna and Ivan Vlasov, were congratulated on their new home by the Chairman of the Polotsk District Executive Committee, Igor Markovych. He emphasized that children are the greatest wealth of our country. Therefore, measures are constantly being taken in Belarus to support and comprehensively develop the younger generation. The Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Council of Deputies, Dmitry Demidov, highlighted the role of parents in each child's family:
— It is significant that the family received the keys to the house on such a date – Mother's Day. A large number of events are being implemented in Belarus, and many good deeds are being done so that every child grows up in a prosperous atmosphere and has the opportunity to learn and develop. This is a constant priority of the Head of State and our social policy. Adoptive parents, who are ready to generously share their care and love with children deprived of these important components for various reasons, play a special role in this matter. Fortunately, there are many such people in our country, in our region. And on the eve of Mother's Day, we sincerely express our gratitude to them for their work and kind hearts.
