Nine new grain drying complexes have been commissioned in the Vitebsk region, the Agriculture and Food Committee of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee informed a BELTA correspondent. New complexes have been launched in Tolochin, Chashniki, Beshenkovichi (one each), Verkhnedvinsk and Dubrovno (three each) districts. Their construction began in the region in the spring, and commissioning was carried out on the eve of the harvest. By the end of the year, it is planned to commission five more such facilities in Vitebsk, Senno (one each) and Dubrovno (three) districts. The cost of each complex is Br4 billion. The equipment was obtained through leasing under a state program. In total, there are 412 grain drying complexes in the region. The harvest campaign in the northernmost region of the country is just gaining momentum, so they are not yet operating at full capacity. In addition, for the harvest campaign, agrarians of the Vitebsk region received 80 new combine harvesters, the total number of which in the region is currently 2048 units. All of them are involved in the harvest during this busy period. The largest number of machines are working in the fields of Orsha, Tolochin, Braslav, Verkhnedvinsk, Senno districts. In accordance with the instructions of the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, additional adjustment of the combine harvesters was carried out to ensure the maximum possible collection of the harvest. As of August 1, a total of 117.3 thousand hectares of grain and leguminous crops have been mown in the Vitebsk region, or 24% of the sown areas. 384.3 thousand tons of grain have been threshed with an average yield of 32.8 cwt/ha. At the same time, the highest yield (51 cwt/ha) is currently recorded in the agricultural branch "Brazdetchino" of the Orsha Meat Canning Plant. In the Vitebsk region, agrarians of OJSC "Rudakovo" are harvesting 48.5 cwt/ha. The leaders in terms of threshed grain per combine harvester currently include a youth crew from the Postavy district, and among adult rural workers - crews from the Orsha and Chashniki districts. Who among them will become the first thousand-tonner will be known by the end of the week. Fodder procurement and flax pulling continue at a rapid pace in the Vitebsk region. Today, the region's agrarians plan to fully complete the harvesting of winter rapeseed. This crop was grown this year on 50 thousand hectares. Its threshing with an average yield of 17 cwt/ha amounted to 84 thousand tons of seeds.
