On May 24, 52 of the best (at the moment) chess players from the Vitebsk region, representing 10 coaching schools, gathered in Vitebsk to establish a chess ranking at the end of the season.

The tournament did not allow for concessions based on age or gender – only your chess strategy skills and quick thinking gave you a chance to compete on equal terms with the recognized chess leaders of the region. And there were more than a dozen young men and women here who already have medals from republican finals and represent our country in international competitions. To the general surprise of experienced coaches and participants, game after game, Taisiia made her opponents learn her surname and our city, Lepel.

Undoubtedly, luck plays a part in any victory, but Taisiia has been training for this significant victory for the past 9 years at the Center for Children and Youth (coach Radko V.N.), as there are no other ways to achieve victories in this sport.

Taisiia Mostovnikova is the Champion of the Vitebsk Region in Chess for the first time in the history of Lepel!

And Taisiia clearly deserves this bright, figurative, informal title.
