The meeting between the President of Belarus and media representatives was held in a new format – not a regular press conference, but an open dialogue, during which journalists both asked questions and expressed their opinions on all issues.
At the very beginning of the meeting, the head of state noted that there were no closed topics and expressed his readiness to answer all questions of interest to representatives of the Belarusian and foreign media. "Since there are many problems and questions, let's talk about them openly and constructively," the President suggested.
Journalists asked several dozen questions covering a wide range of topics: Belarus's foreign and domestic policy, the country's economic and financial situation, export diversification, personnel policy and wages, problematic issues in construction and housing and communal services, corruption, state bodies' response to media criticism, and officials' communication with journalists. The discussion touched upon the Ukrainian issue and, in general, the problems of ensuring security and peace. It also covered cooperation with Russia, interaction within integration structures, including the Union State and the Eurasian Economic Union, as well as relations with the West. Alexander Lukashenko paid special attention to cooperation with China, as well as many other topics.
The President answered all questions sincerely, frankly, and in detail.
