The Directorate of the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" festival is working on updating its concept.

The directorate of the international arts festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" is working on updating the festival's concept, the head of the culture department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Larisa Olenskaya, told BELTA correspondent.

In her opinion, one of the main changes should concern the competition of young performers. "The festival competition needs to be made interesting for spectators, it is necessary to attract young extraordinary performers to participate in it and help them reveal their talents," Larisa Olenskaya is convinced. New approaches to holding the arts festival will be presented at one of the festival's organizing committee meetings.

The need to update the international arts festival "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" was discussed at a press conference for representatives of Belarusian and foreign media by the President of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko.

Currently, the festival directorate is accepting applications for participation in the XXII International Pop Song Performers Competition "Vitebsk-2013" and the XI International Children's Music Competition "Vitebsk-2013". Applications are accepted until March 22, 2013. -0-
