11 January, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. To save budgetary funds, the Vitebsk region has accumulated funds in the regional budget for the capital repair of streets, water supply networks, elevators, and the conversion of boiler houses to local fuels. This was stated to a BELTA correspondent by the head of the financial department of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Boris Kichanovsky.
"The concentration of budgetary funds under the section "Housing and Communal Services and Housing Construction" will allow us not to disperse them, but to direct them towards socially significant measures," the interlocutor explained. In particular, financiers hope that by conducting centralized tenders, it will be possible to reduce budget expenditures on the procurement of equipment and components for repairs. In addition, the centralization of funds will allow larger sums to be allocated for the preparation of Polotsk for the celebration of its 1150th anniversary and for holding the Day of Belarusian Written Language in Glubokoye.
In the regional budget for 2012, under the section "Housing and Communal Services and Housing Construction," almost Br141 billion will be accumulated, of which over Br7.7 billion is for the capital repair of street and road network facilities in settlements, Br7.2 billion for the capital repair of water supply and sewerage facilities under the "Clean Water" program, Br19.6 billion for the capital repair and replacement of elevators in the housing stock, Br36 billion for the replacement of inefficient and outdated boilers and the conversion of housing and communal services boiler houses to local fuels, and Br70 billion for the capital repair of heating networks. -0-
