A new residential building with comfortable rooms, including those for people with disabilities, has opened at the "Lettsy" sanatorium, a BELTA correspondent reports.
The sanatorium's director, Aleksei Moyseychenko, said that the reconstruction of the building, constructed in 1969, began in 2019. During the design phase, the sanatorium's management primarily considered the wishes of patients who had previously stayed there. They wanted to see comfortable rooms, wide and spacious balconies, and convenient bathrooms. "Since we have elderly patients, a lift was installed to make it easier for them to move between floors. The fifth building now houses 65 rooms, including "Comfort Plus" categories for families with young children and "Comfort" series rooms," the head of the institution explained.
Additionally, two rooms for wheelchair users were located on the first floor of the building, and an accessible environment was created for people with reduced mobility. The new building offers guests a fitness room with exercise equipment and a self-service laundry, where anyone can tidy up their clothes.
The cost of the construction and installation work amounted to Br4.3 million.
Both Belarusians and foreign guests come to "Lettsy" for recreation and health improvement. The sanatorium's proximity to Vitebsk makes it particularly attractive during the "Slavianski Bazaar in Vitebsk" international arts festival, and a large number of vouchers for the sanatorium have already been reserved for the upcoming summer.
"This new building will not only allow us to earn more, as sanatoriums are typically non-profit projects, but will also help preserve and enhance health, and foster a healthy society," noted the Chairman of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, Aleksandr Subbotin, at the facility's opening.
