On June 28, Minsk /BelTA correspondent/. Equal conditions will be created for all candidates in the presidential elections in Belarus. This was stated by the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in an interview with Euronews, BelTA reports.
"I have already noticed in the media, on the main TV channels (Russian ones), that they have started to articulate the theses of the presidential elections in Belarus. Everything is absolutely clear: there is pressure on the eve of the presidential elections in Belarus. Both our opposition and they believe that Lukashenko, in order to retain power before the elections (so that the Kremlin supports and recognizes Lukashenko), will give up everything. I do not need, I emphasize again, any support. And I do not need any recognition today, except for the recognition of the Belarusian people: if the Belarusian people elect Petrov, Sidorov, Ivanov in Belarus – he will be the president here," said Alexander Lukashenko.
Answering a question about the possibility of participating in the upcoming presidential elections in Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko said: "I have already answered this question before. If I see that, in general, people do not accept me, then I will never go against the will of the people."
The President emphasized that he has always listened to the opinion of the people and that is why he has received support. "If I see that this support is gone, and people are tired of Lukashenko, and they do not want, for the most part, Lukashenko to work in this position – I swear to you that I will not cling to this chair," the Belarusian leader stressed.
Alexander Lukashenko also assured that absolutely equal conditions will be created for all candidates in the elections. "I do not need to create unequal conditions. Because you know what is happening around these elections, especially in Russia, not to mention Europe (Europe will already put pressure on me to the fullest). Why should I create additional precedents and generate additional facts to be reproached for being illegitimate, for conducting the elections incorrectly. I absolutely do not need this," the head of state stressed. – I know the situation in the republic, I know the rating of each of my potential rivals who want to be president. Although I made a mistake… Do they want to be president? That's another question." -0-
