For the residents of Yurkovshchina village, Lepel rescuers organised an information and educational platform called "Safety Post" at the local grocery store.
Here, rescuers conducted awareness-raising activities with each shopper, teaching them how to prevent fires in their homes and protect their health, lives, and property from fire.
During the preventive talks, employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations informed fellow villagers about fires that had occurred in the district, explained their causes, and demonstrated the autonomous fire alarm, which annually proves its worth by saving dozens of lives across the country.
Special attention during the safety talks was paid to the rules for operating stoves, domestic boilers, electric heaters, and all electrical appliances used at home. The Ministry of Emergency Situations employees strongly advised parents never to leave young children unattended, to spend time with them daily to explain the dangers of playing with matches, and the rules of conduct at home and outdoors. Shoppers were also introduced to the mobile application "Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus. Help is Nearby."
For their active participation, all shoppers were presented with thematic brochures and leaflets urging citizens to take timely care of fire safety rules.
