The process is proceeding smoothly, with no violations being recorded. The commission has not received any citizen appeals requiring a response. In our assessment, voters in the Vitebsk region are demonstrating sufficiently high activity.
An integral condition for conducting electoral campaigns is openness, which is realised through the institution of observers. I would like to note that since the formation of the commissions, the process of accrediting observers has been very active. Currently, commissions at all levels have accredited over 5.5 thousand citizens as observers. Public associations have undertaken significant work in this regard. The process of accrediting observers continues until February 27. Furthermore, polling stations in the Vitebsk region are being visited by long-term international observers accredited by the Central Election Commission of Belarus. On the referendum day, February 27, it is planned that participants of international short-term observer missions will also be working with us.
In the Vitebsk region, approximately 835 thousand people are included in the referendum participant lists. The commissions are currently receiving numerous requests from voters regarding home voting, as well as the possibility of voting at the location of the referendum participant. In such cases, the commissions take all necessary measures to prevent the possibility of double voting.
