24 September, Minsk /BELTA correspondent/. Days of Belarusian Culture are opening today in Lithuania, reports BELTA correspondent. The Days of Culture are organised by the Embassy of Belarus in Lithuania in conjunction with the Ministry of Culture of Belarus, with the organisational and financial support of the Minsk City Executive Committee and the Mogilev Regional Executive Committee. The celebration will commence at the Lithuanian National Philharmonic Society in Vilnius, where the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus, under the baton of Maestro Alexander Anisimov, will demonstrate virtuosic performances of works by Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Dmitri Smolsky, George Gershwin, and Johann Strauss. Additionally, an exhibition titled "Yanka Kupala and Lithuania," from the collection of the Yanka Kupala State Literary Museum, will open today at the A. Mickiewicz Public Library (Vilnius). As part of the Days of Culture, there will be guest performances by the folklore group "Kupalinka," the Cinema Actor Studio Theatre – which will stage the plays "The Makropulos Affair" and "No. 13"; the Belarusian State Academic Musical Theatre, whose actors will present the musical "West Side Story" to the Lithuanian public; and the Mogilev Regional Drama Theatre – which will present the solo performances "Complaints of the Lovers," "The Coffee House Owner," and "Time to Embrace the Light Side of Life" in Vilnius and Visaginas. Furthermore, the XVII Festival of Belarusian Song will take place in Visaginas, and Belarusian ensembles will perform in Anykščiai. The Days of Belarusian Culture in Lithuania will conclude on 30 October with a performance of "The Fountain of Bakhchisarai" by the National Academic Grand Opera and Ballet Theatre of Belarus at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre.
