According to the Rules for Hunting Management and Hunting, in the event of wounding a hoofed game animal, the hunt leader shall make a note of this in the report on the use of the permit for obtaining a game animal, indicating the date and time of wounding the animal, as well as the hunt leader's surname and initials, and affix their signature. Further hunting may only be carried out if actions are organised to obtain the wounded animal.

If the wounded animal could not be obtained on the day of the hunt, the hunting grounds user shall organise its obtaining on the following day using permitted hunting tools and methods. A new hunting permit shall be issued for the permit to obtain a game animal, which shall be marked to indicate that hunting is carried out for obtaining the wounded animal, specifying its location, time, tools, and methods.

For tracking obtained and obtaining wounded hoofed game animals, hunting dogs permitted for hunting in the current hunting season may be used; at other times, only hounds, spaniels, retrievers, terriers, and dachshunds, as well as dogs of other breeds with a field diploma for blood tracking, may be used.

Obtaining a wounded animal that has gone onto the territory of another hunting grounds user shall be carried out with the permission of that user, and one that has gone onto territory where hunting is prohibited shall be carried out with the knowledge of the relevant inter-district inspection for the protection of fauna and flora of the State Inspectorate. Obtaining a wounded animal that has gone onto the territory of a reserve or a reserve zone of a national park is prohibited. Such an animal shall be reported to the state environmental protection institution managing the reserve or national park.

If the wounded ungulate animal could not be obtained, the hunting manager shall mark "not obtained" in the report on the use of the permit for obtaining a hunting animal and indicate the species and age of this animal, and in case of wounding an adult animal, if possible, indicate the sex and/or trophy qualities of the wounded animal, in accordance with which the fee for the permit is determined, the amount of the fee for the permit (in words) in the amount of 50 percent of the cost of the permit for obtaining a hunting animal. The completed report shall be signed (indicating surname and initials) by the hunting manager and the hunter who wounded the animal, and in their absence, by another hunter who participated in tracking the wounded animal. This permit shall be returned as closed, with the coupons not being cancelled or detached.

The hunting manager has the right to resolve disputes when determining the species, sex, age, and trophy qualities of the wounded animal.
