9 October, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. A documentary film about Vitebsk will be shown in Harbin. The Belarusian city has become a participant in a television project by Harbin Television about partner cities, the project's chief director Zheng Ming told a meeting with the Chairman of the Vitebsk City Executive Committee Viktor Nikolaikin today, BELTA correspondent reports. The main goal defined by the Chinese journalists is to introduce their multi-million audience to the culture and traditions of various cities around the world connected with Harbin through partnership and twin-city relations. The journalists arrived in Vitebsk after filming in six Russian cities. "We immediately noticed that the city has an atmosphere of calm, satisfaction, and a spirit of creativity," noted Zheng Ming. The journalists filmed the streets of Vitebsk, its museums, and attractions. Moreover, they did not limit themselves to ground-level filming: Chinese viewers will see Vitebsk from a bird's-eye view – from a helicopter. The television crew met with the creative intelligentsia, artisans, and their compatriots – students of Vitebsk State University named after P. Masherov. They also paid attention to the economic contacts between the two partner cities. The premiere of the film series about partner cities, including Vitebsk, will be shown in Harbin in January 2013. A cooperation agreement between Vitebsk and Harbin was signed in 2009, and a twin-city agreement was concluded in January 2012, forming the basis for subsequent contacts and exchanges in various fields. -0-
