On December 23, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. The position of a dance evening organiser has been created for the first time in the Vitebsk region. This is one of the 31 jobs created since the beginning of the year for people with disabilities in accordance with the state and regional employment promotion programmes, Irina Matveeva, Deputy Chairperson of the Committee for Labour, Employment and Social Protection of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee, told a BELTA correspondent. The region's employment service is carrying out consistent work to assist in the employment of the most socially vulnerable category of citizens with reduced competitiveness in the labour market – unemployed people with disabilities who have employment recommendations from the medico-rehabilitation expert commission. This year, at the expense of the Social Protection Fund, jobs have been created for them in cultural, sports and tourism institutions, in territorial social service centres, as well as at enterprises of public associations of disabled people. This year, people with disabilities have been given the opportunity to work as librarians, club leaders, vegetable growers, knitters, and social workers. Employers who have created jobs for people with disabilities have been financed with Br900 million. By the end of the year, it is planned to create another 13 jobs for people with disabilities in the region, for which another Br800 million will be allocated. According to data for 9 months, 524 unemployed people with disabilities were registered with the employment service, and 298 were employed. -0-
