As part of the special preventive event "House without Fire", employees of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations have intensified fire prevention work in the territory of the Lepel district, aimed at increasing citizen safety and preventing potential emergencies.
During their visits, representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations check the fire safety condition of dwellings, conduct explanatory conversations, and provide recommendations for eliminating identified shortcomings.
During the raid activities, residents of the Lepel region learned about the rules for the safe use of electrical devices, which is particularly relevant in the winter period when the load on electrical networks increases. It is important to remember that improper use of electrical appliances can lead to short circuits and, consequently, to fires.
Special attention was paid to the condition of stove heating in residential buildings. Rescuers thoroughly checked the functioning of stoves and chimneys, paying attention to the presence of cracks, blockages, and other potential problems that could lead to ignition.
"Do not use flammable and combustible liquids when lighting a stove! This can lead to unpredictable consequences. Also, do not leave the firebox doors open and the stove unattended while it is heating. This is extremely dangerous! Keep clothes, furniture, firewood, and other combustible materials at a safe distance from the stove to avoid ignition," noted representatives of the rescue department.
In addition, rescuers ensured the operability of autonomous fire alarms, which play an important role in the early detection of fires. They reminded residents about the correct installation and operation of these devices, emphasizing that regular checks and battery replacements in the alarms can significantly increase the level of safety in homes.
At the end of the visits, residents were given leaflets with useful tips and recommendations.
