The Day of Unity vividly embodies the strength of the centuries-old friendship between Belarusians and Russians, their spiritual kinship, and a common choice of development path. Both states have maintained unity of views on fundamental historical events that intertwine the destinies of many generations, and the trusting and constructive dialogue between the countries has accelerated integration processes.

Today, the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation pursue a coordinated policy aimed at protecting common values and interests, and develop mutually beneficial economic ties to increase national wealth through creative labor. They exchange achievements in education, culture, art, and science, and closely cooperate in healthcare and sports. Interregional cooperation has entered a new stage of development.
