On August 15, Vitebsk /Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Two foreign nationals intended to illegally enter the EU via Belarus to receive free treatment for hepatitis C. The illegal immigrants were detained by servicemen of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment in the Braslav district, Denis Glebko, assistant head of the Polotsk Border Guard Detachment, informed a BELTA correspondent. In close proximity to the state border on August 14, border guards detained two young men, both under 30 years of age, natives of the Caucasus region – citizens of one of the countries neighbouring Belarus, who intended to cross the state border from Belarus into Latvia. According to them, they wanted to find work and receive free medical care in the European Union. Both men had hepatitis C and were well aware that medical assistance is provided to detained illegal migrants in EU countries. The unsuccessful illegal immigrants flew to Minsk, then took a taxi to the Braslav district. They had backpacks with a set of underwear and a road map with them. Currently, both violators have been deported. Each of them paid a fine of Br700 thousand for violating the state border.-0-
