Two investment projects in the field of electric power engineering are planned to be implemented in the Vitebsk region, BELTA was informed at RUP "Vitebskenergo". The most large-scale investment project is related to the construction of a wind farm in the Liozno district. It is planned that the total installed capacity of the wind turbines will reach about 60 MW. The cost of the project is over $154 million, including capital expenditures of $35 million. A promising location for wind energy use in the Liozno district is near the village of Gorshevo. RUP "Vitebskenergo" has concluded a contract for the necessary research with Belhydromet. For this purpose, a 70-meter mast has already been installed, which is planned to be commissioned this month. Then, over the course of a year, wind loads will be determined using it, and other measurements will be carried out. Another project is planned to be implemented on the Dnieper River in the Orsha district, where a hydroelectric power station with an installed capacity of 5.65 MW is planned to be built. The required volume of investment is about $24 million. The initiator of the projects is RUP "Vitebskenergo", which will subsequently become the main consumer of the electricity produced. The Vitebsk region will present proposals for the implementation of these and three other investment projects to investors at the Belarusian Investment Forum. The total volume of investments declared for the region's projects is about $300 million. The Belarusian Investment Forum will be held in Minsk on November 15-16 with the participation of representatives of foreign business, financial institutions, and international organizations, who will be provided with complete and reliable information about the country's investment potential, including opportunities opening up in connection with the formation of a 170 million common market of the Single Economic Space.
