Two illegal batches of bananas worth over Br200 million have been seized in the Rossony district, the Department of Financial Investigations of the State Control Committee for the Vitebsk region informed a BELTA correspondent. The first batch, seized on November 5, was valued at over Br100 million. The 17-tonne cargo, transported from Saint Petersburg to the Minsk region without proper documentation, was carried by an individual entrepreneur from the Brest region. The illegal fruits have been confiscated, and an administrative report has been drawn up against the driver. A similar fate likely awaits the batch of bananas worth Br126 million, seized in the Rossony district last weekend and transported by a resident of Glubokoye. He also failed to present the necessary documents for the 20-tonne cargo. An investigation into this fact is underway. -0-
