A theatre, as is well known, begins with a coat rack. The regional festival-competition of children's amateur theatre groups "Malaya Stsenа" began with the steps leading to the stage of the renovated Lepel District House of Culture.

The regional festival-competition of children's amateur theatre groups "Malaya Stsenа" began with the steps leading to the stage of the renovated Lepel District House of Culture. And behind the scenes – a door to the magical world of art… A moment – the curtains rise… The theatrical morning was opened by the creative laboratory of the Educational Institution "Lepel Children's Art School" and the exemplary dance theatre "Kapriz" of the District House of Culture.
Our town was represented in the regional festival-competition by two groups: the exemplary theatre-studio "Syurpriz" of the Children's Art School (director Vitaly Khvatynets) and the creative laboratory of the Children's Art School (director Andrey Efremov). The Lepel groups competed with theatre groups from Orsha, Polotsk, Horodok, Vitebsk, Baran, Shumilino, and Liozno.
