14 October, Vitebsk / Diana Kurilo - BELTA/. Movement of all types of vehicles at the "Grigorovshchina" road border crossing point will resume on 15 October, the Vitebsk customs office informed a BELTA correspondent.
The "Grigorovshchina" border crossing point is located in the Verkhnedvinsk district on the border with Latvia. It was closed on 15 July of the current year due to large-scale reconstruction works. By 15 October, the first phase of the facility will be commissioned: two lanes for departing trucks, one lane for arriving trucks, as well as lanes for arriving and departing cars and buses will start functioning.
The development of road border crossing points is one of the areas of activity of the State Customs Committee of Belarus, which is carried out within the framework of the comprehensive programme adopted by the government for 2011-2015. As previously reported, within the state investment programme for 2012, it was envisaged to allocate Br134.95 billion, which were directed towards the commissioning of the "Privalka" road border crossing point on the Belarusian-Lithuanian border, "Grigorovshchina" on the Belarusian-Latvian border, as well as the commencement of the development of design and estimate documentation for the "Kamenny Log" and "Novaya Guta" road border crossing points. The implementation of the comprehensive programme measures will allow by 2015 to reach the throughput capacity of all border crossing points of 33.98 thousand vehicles per day.-0-
