Careless handling of fire is one of the most common causes of fires and deaths resulting from them. And it is all due to human carelessness.

A smoker repeats the harmless actions "took out-smoked-threw away" several times a day. However, sometimes this chain has a different continuation: "drank-smoked-fell asleep". Smoking combined with alcohol leads, in the best case, to smoked walls and ceilings, and in the worst case, to the loss of a home or even death.

Thus, on February 10, around midnight, the operational management center of the Lepel District Department for Emergency Situations received a report of a house fire on Lugovaya Street in the village of Stai. Upon arrival at the scene, open burning of the house was observed. Firefighters found the body of a woman on the sofa and a man on the floor behind a wardrobe at the fire site. As it turned out later, these were the owner of the house, a pensioner, and her son, born in 1986.

Everyone knows that smoking is harmful to health. But a cigarette can also cause a fire. Do not forget about the need to observe the following rules:

1. If you cannot quit tobacco yourself, do not throw cigarettes on the floor and do not smoke in bed;

2. Cigarette butts should be collected in a tin can filled with water. And forget the habit of throwing "butts" from a loggia or balcony;

3. Install a smoke detector, which will promptly notify you of a fire.
