A Visit to the Dragon

The Lepel Dragon is once again inviting guests to its festival this year, scheduled for August 21st. Folk festivities, performances by professional and amateur artists, and outdoor trade are planned.

Insurance Cases and Compensation

In June, 41 people applied to the district representative office of Belgosstrakh for the Lepel district with claims for damage to their property due to natural phenomena and requests for insurance compensation payments. In the first twenty days of July, another 12 people applied. In June, household appliances such as televisions, refrigerators, and computers were mainly damaged. The causes were voltage surges in power grids due to thunderstorms and lightning. July was marked by strong winds, with gusts in some places exceeding 15 meters per second. Such phenomena cause significant damage to roofing.

A Stream into the Milk Receptacle

Milk from the cows of village farmers supplements the general milk receptacle. In the first half of the year, 472 tons of milk were accepted from villagers in the district by OJSC "Lepel Dairy and Canning Plant". All products are accepted only as first grade. During the same period, 4878 kilograms of milk were returned due to unsatisfactory quality. The largest returns, 2276 kg, were made to KUP "Salute-Agro". In winter, the cause of returns was most often the presence of antibiotics in milk, and in summer, increased acidity.

On the "One-Stop Shop" Principle

In the first half of the year, 690 citizens and eight legal entities applied to the department for work with citizens' and legal entities' appeals of the district executive committee with various inquiries. Most often, issues related to housing and communal services and housing privatization were raised.

Shells in Chertsy

Recently, ammunition was found in the village of Chertsy – two artillery shells from the Great Patriotic War. They were accidentally discovered by a local resident who went to the pond for water. The shells were live. Sappers transported the ammunition to the Zaslonovsky training ground, where they were destroyed by detonation.
