To blame ourselves for inattention and a careless attitude towards ourselves and others. As harsh as it may sound, this is the bitter truth, this is reality. In 2013, there were 206 traffic accidents involving pedestrians on the roads of the Vitebsk region, which claimed the lives of 60 people. Undoubtedly, pedestrians, cyclists, and passengers must all be disciplined, attentive, and cautious on the roadway. However, the driver of a vehicle plays the main role on the road. Large mass, high speed, inability to stop instantly, limited maneuverability - these and other characteristics distinguish a car from all other vehicles as the most dangerous.
The traffic police officers have a primary task: to train drivers to observe the rules for passing unregulated pedestrian crossings, and pedestrians to cross the road in designated areas. Unfortunately, the State Automobile Inspectorate officers detect dozens of traffic rule violations daily, by both pedestrians and drivers. Meanwhile, both drivers and pedestrians are equally responsible for road safety. Do not forget to use reflective elements during dark hours and pass on this simple "traffic rule alphabet" to your loved ones, especially children!
