On September 14, Vitebsk / Olga Bogacheva - BELTA /. The establishment of a single exchange rate for the Belarusian ruble will stabilize the economic situation in the country. This opinion was expressed today to a BELTA correspondent by Ivan Yukhno, Director of the Postavy Dairy Plant, commenting on the results of the additional currency session held by the National Bank. According to him, inflated prices and panic demand for currency were provoked artificially. "The move to a single exchange rate will allow everyone who wishes to purchase currency in the required amount and will remove the prerequisites for further escalation of the situation," said Ivan Yukhno, expressing confidence that enterprises will feel this first. The market exchange rate of the dollar following the first trades at the additional exchange session was Br8600 per $1. Meanwhile, the head of the enterprise believes that this rate does not yet reflect the real situation. "The exchange rate balance will be established quite quickly. It will likely be lower than the one set today, as the Belarusian economy is at a sufficiently high level," Ivan Yukhno is confident. He recalled that strong enterprises worked stably even in a difficult economic environment, so the move to a single ruble exchange rate will solve many issues for them only in a positive direction. Currently, the Postavy Dairy Plant is implementing a large investment project worth 15 million euros for the construction of a new workshop for the production of hard cheeses with a capacity of 20 tons per day. Construction work is already underway. Equipment ordered for 6.2 million euros is being delivered. The enterprise intends to attract part of the credit resources for the project through bank loans. "The plant does not experience an acute shortage of currency thanks to its well-established export policy, so it does not plan to participate in exchange trading for the purchase or sale of its own currency in the near future, although it does not rule out such a possibility," added Ivan Yukhno. In January-August 2011, the plant produced products worth Br59.7 billion, which amounted to 143.5% of last year's level. The share of exports in revenue from sales was 40%. Export deliveries increased by 16.3% compared to the same period last year to $6.9 million. Sales profitability for January-July was 4.9%. The energy saving indicator is minus 5.5%.
