February 6, Minsk /BELTA/. A unified SMS ticket for all types of transport and regions of the country is planned to be created in Belarus, as reported today to journalists by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications of Belarus, Alexander Shishko, during the launch of the innovative "SMS ticket" service for fare payment in the Minsk metro, according to a BELTA correspondent.
In the near future, according to Alexander Shishko, a comprehensive service will be provided to passengers in Belarus. "For example, if a passenger has bought a ticket for the railway, they will be able to travel to their desired station by metro, paying with only one railway ticket. These are the technologies we are currently developing together with CJSC BEST," the Deputy Minister said.
It is planned that this system will operate throughout the country. "It is convenient and accessible. All types of transport can be paid for with an SMS ticket," explained Alexander Shishko.
These fare payment systems are operational worldwide, and Belarus also intends to implement them. The Ministry of Transport is focused on implementing modern fare payment technologies in its area of responsibility, which would contribute to improving the quality of passenger service and increasing transport capacity, emphasized the Deputy Minister.-0-
