The lesson was prefaced by the words of the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko: "The Day of National Unity is a tribute from contemporaries to previous generations who defended the right to determine their own destiny. It instills pride in the country and gives an understanding that Belarusians are a united people. This forms the basis of stability and prosperity of the modern Belarusian state. United by the dream of a successful and prosperous Belarus, learning lessons from our history, we build our common future in peace and harmony through creative work."
The students prepared presentations on the history of the establishment of this State Holiday, recalled milestones in the history of Belarus, and discussed the country's development prospects.
Then, Igor Gennadievich addressed the attendees.
"The Day of National Unity is a holiday that unites all residents of our country. From young to old, we are all citizens of the Republic of Belarus, and the present and future of our Motherland are in our hands," noted the head of the district deputy corps.
Attention was also drawn to the fact that for the Day of National Unity, the film studio "Belarusfilm" released the film "On the Other Bank," which tells about life in Western Belarus in the 1920s.
During the discussion, the students were invited to reflect on the following questions:
– What constitutes unity in a family, in a country?
– In what ways is unity manifested?
– Why do we need unity?
– What is meant by "national unity"?
"Our country's path to sovereignty and independence was long and arduous. Our ancestors had to endure many trials, to defend with arms in hand the right to the existence of the Belarusian people. We, the modern generations, must not only honor and remember the feat of the Belarusian people but also multiply what has been achieved for the benefit of future generations. The state pays great attention to the development of education and healthcare, which are the foundation of the state and the cornerstone of state policy. Belarus holds high positions in many global rankings for the standard and quality of life, provided medical care, and the level of education of the population," summarized Igor Gennadievich.
