15 March – Constitution Day of the Republic of Belarus



Today, a unified lesson dedicated to Constitution Day was held in general secondary education institutions.

Focus points:

• What does it mean to be a citizen of the Republic of Belarus?

• Rights and responsibilities of citizens: why are they interconnected?

• What values of modern Belarusian society are enshrined in the Basic Law of our country?

For example, such an event was held as the first lesson at the I.M. Yerashov Gymnasium of Lepel.



Educator Elena Matiyevskaya spoke about the role of the Basic Law in the lives of Belarusians.

Guests of the open lesson included the Deputy Prosecutor of Lepel District, Alexander Filimonov, and the methodologist of the educational and methodological office, Marina Pshonko.

In a conversation with the students, the Deputy Prosecutor noted:

"The Constitution is the foundation of legislation and the state system, embodying the concepts and values of our country.

It is important to be proud of your country, to respect Belarusian culture, our people and their achievements, to honour all that has been passed down to us by previous generations, to preserve our historical memory and the nation's genetic code.
