January 17, Moscow /Eduard Pivovar – BELTA/. The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), headquartered in Moscow, will open its representative offices in Belarus and Kazakhstan. The relevant draft decision of the EEC Council, approved by a decision of the EEC Board, has been published on the official website of the Eurasian Economic Commission, BELTA correspondent reports.
According to the approved draft regulation on the representative office, it will ensure the interaction of the EEC with the state authorities of the host country, including in terms of preparing materials, draft decisions, and recommendations of the commission on issues of formation and functioning of the Customs Union and the Single Economic Space. The functions of the representative office also include participation in events held in the host country on issues within the scope of the commission's activities, facilitating the holding of EEC Council meetings via video conference, and preparing analytical materials.
In accordance with the draft regulation, the representative office will not be a legal entity. It will be headed by a director appointed and dismissed by order of the Chairman of the EEC Board.
The decision to open representative offices of the Eurasian Economic Commission in Belarus and Kazakhstan will be considered at the next meeting of the EEC Council.
