June 7, Vitebsk /Olga Bogacheva - BELTA/. A group of Egyptian illegal immigrants has been detained in Orsha, reported BELTA correspondent Tatiana Romashova, Head of the Citizenship and Migration Department of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Vitebsk Regional Executive Committee.
Police officers of the Orsha District Department of Internal Affairs identified two citizens of Egypt at the Orsha station on the Moscow-Minsk train. One of them entered Belarus without identity documents, the second - without a visa. They explained their visit as a private trip.
Currently, both illegal immigrants are detained, their identities and purposes of arrival are being established.
In total, from January to May, foreign citizens committed 83 crimes on the territory of the Vitebsk region, which is 13 fewer facts compared to the same period last year. 579 people were brought to administrative responsibility during this period, including 428 foreigners and 151 citizens of Belarus providing housing to foreign individuals. 103 citizens of other states were deported for violating the Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens and Stateless Persons in the Republic of Belarus", including 33 for driving a vehicle while intoxicated. -0-
