Main tasks:

• coordination, within the framework of the current legislation of the Republic of Belarus, of the development of agricultural and agricultural service organizations in the district, regardless of ownership;

• ensuring the implementation of scientific and technological achievements in the agricultural production of the district;

• creating conditions for increasing food and agricultural raw material resources, improving the supply of food products to the district's population;

• ensuring growth in production of products in agricultural organizations and organizations servicing agriculture in the district to meet the needs of the domestic market.

Agriculture

The agro-industrial complex of Lepel district includes 8 agricultural organizations, including 2 open joint-stock companies, a communal unitary production agricultural enterprise, 2 agricultural unitary enterprises, the state agricultural institution "Lepel Variety Testing Station", 2 branches of CJSC "Vitebskagropromproduct", 1 ancillary farm, a broiler growing workshop, and 15 peasant (farm) holdings.

The largest agricultural organizations in Lepel District are the unitary enterprise "Yurkovshchynskoye" and the unitary enterprise "Prozhektor-agro".

The average number of employees engaged in agricultural production in the district is 1.0 thousand people.

The main direction of agricultural production is dairy and beef cattle breeding with developed production of grain and cruciferous crops, pig farming, and poultry farming.

Livestock Breeding

There are 12 dairy farms, 2 robotic dairy complexes, 2 dairy complexes with milking parlours, a broiler house, and 4 pig complexes in the agricultural organizations of the district.

Livestock facilities in the district house 13.0 thousand head of cattle, including 5.3 thousand head of cows, 22.5 thousand head of pigs, and 53.9 thousand head of poultry.

In 5 out of 8 agricultural organizations, milk is the primary type of livestock production. Milk production in agricultural organizations for 2025 amounted to 20.5 thousand tons, with 14.3 thousand tons of livestock and poultry produced (raised).

Crop Production

The area of agricultural land is 34.8 thousand hectares, with arable land accounting for 25.0 thousand hectares. The cadastral valuation of agricultural land is 24.4 points, and arable land is 25.9 points.

The gross harvest of grain and leguminous crops in barn weight for 2025 amounted to 30.3 thousand tons, with a yield of 27.0 centners per hectare.

The highest yield of grain and leguminous crops was obtained in the "Bobrovo-Agro" branch of CJSC "Vitebskagrop produkt" – 53.7 centners per hectare.

The main objectives for the development of agricultural production in the district are:

- increasing production volumes, improving its quality, and ensuring profitable production;

- improving the staffing of the agro-industrial complex by enhancing the quality of specialist training and creating adequate housing, living, and other conditions for their retention in rural areas;

Agricultural organizations provide: production, procurement, storage, and sale of agricultural products (milk, meat, grain, potatoes, rapeseed, corn).
